Lagotto Romagnolo's skin can be pretty sensitive and it's hard to find shampoo that fits there hair, but this shampoo is one of the best that we have ever used. This shampoo protects from fleas and gives your dog very healthy hair.
Grooming:
The Lagotto is a great choice for individuals that suffer from dog hair allergies. The Lagotto, on the other hand, hardly shed, so your home won't be covered with hair. Regular grooming is necessary to keep their coat from being matted, knotted, and uncomfortable. When these dogs are outdoors in the summer's intense heat, some owners opt to trim their coats short. It is recommended that the coat be cut down at least every 3 months, but it's best to do it every 2 months because the hair will have big knots and it will be harder for you to brush them out. Make sure when you are giving your dog a bath that no water goes in the ears because it can cause ear infections and even cause them to lose hearing.

Nails:
Care should also be taken when you trim their nails. Lagottos nails do get very long because they are specialized for their truffle digging abilities. This means you will need to trim their nails at least every 2 weeks, before the blood vessel inside the nail is longer than average, and you don’t want to cut into this accidentally. Not only will your dog not trust you with clipping its nails but it will also start to bleed and be very painful.

Grooming the ears:
They have more hair within their ears than other breeds to keep them from getting wet, but occasionally this excess hair can grow out of control and lead to a buildup of wax and debris. If there is a lot of hair in the ears, the hairs need to be gently plucked out at least twice a month to prevent ear infections. In order to avoid this issue, they might require routine hair removal.

Food:
All dogs should be fed a high-quality and appropriately portion-controlled diet, and the Lagotto Romagnolo is no exception. Your Lagottos food should be made predominantly from meat. Two servings of food per day is the standard feeding schedule for this breed.
